Provmyza are Galina Myznikova (Russia, 1968) and Sergey Provorov (Russia, 1970). They work in various spheres of contemporary art employing a wide range of multi-media means. In their creative work they follow the tendency of obliterating the borders between the kinds and genres of art; their approach is mostly based on the tradition of the Russian objectless art of the beginning of the 20th century comprehended in the light of the modernistic experience of the subsequent times. In 1993-1996 the artists created as the authors and producers an experimental program at the television of Nizhniy Novgorod with the development of an original concept of non-verbal information. From now on they have a large number of projects which demonstrate a wide range of the artists' interests and their inclination to creative experiments. Among them there are 20 experimental films which took part in numerous Russian and foreign festivals, a number of installations created as joint international projects and presented at some Biennales. At the end of 2000 Galina Myznikova and Sergey Provorov created the artistic brand PROVMYZA. In their work they touch the problem how the communication mechanism functions per se, first of all its visual aspect, structure and representative models. In their search for answers, PROVMYZA switch in an apparently playful way between poetic video sequences and highly stylised video productions with a coolish feel to them. These contradictory modes of visual production have an almost natural presence in their work. In 2005, Myznikova and Provorov represented Russia with innovative project ├ČIdiot Wind├« at 51st Venice Biennial.
