Stina Wirfelt (Sweden, 1980) lives and works in Glasgow. She has worked with moving image as her primary medium since 2004. Having been an exchange student at Glasgow school of Art while studying, she graduated with an MFA from Malmö Art Academy. The city has been both the backdrop and the subject in several of her videos, drawing subjective links between observations from the streets, online imagery, romantic novels and many other sources.

Tame Time (2010) looks at the area of Dalmarnock, which will be transformed to house several of the sporting events and the athletes' village during the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014. The fictional story is told from the perspective of a woman who regularly walks her dog in the area, an activity that makes her think about the past, the present and the future. Oasis (2007) is depicting a condition rather than an event. A roadside restaurant called "the Peacock" in a small village in Sweden is the scene of action. The owner has given the front of the house an extraordinary southern touch that is enhanced by a Sean Paul tune played on the radio. The video is about making connections between things we perceive but usually ignore, a suggestion that everything we hear can be a seen as a soundtrack to what we see.
