Julian Opie (1958) lives and works in London.
A pioneer in his field, Opie is recognised for his methodological innovation and his use of computerised imagery. "I am simply using that which is available to describe that which is experienced. " A reduction of photographs into figurative representation, his signature is resoundingly clever, his works simply profound.
Julian Opie, already a figure in the history of video, is represented internationally, notably Lisson Gallery in London and The Barbara Krakow Gallery in USA. His work is part of several major collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Tate Gallery and British Museum in London, and Maison Europeene de la photographie in Paris.
